The Procurement Forester is responsible for purchasing high-quality timber to support mill operations. This includes building relationships with local suppliers, landowners, loggers and timber dealers.

- Purchase delivered wood from suppliers
- Perform field visits and audits to align log specs with mill needs
- Coordinate with the Procurement Manager on wood flow and log mix
- Communicates daily with scalers
- Support mill safety and improvement initiatives
- Strong relationship building and negotiation skills
- Ability to manage multiple suppliers and tracts
- Knowledgeable in
- Log pricing and appraisals
- BMP compliance
- SFI standards
- Strong planning, coordination and analytical skills
- Bachelor’s degree in Forestry or related field
- 3 years procurement experience
- Knowledge of local contractors and markets
- Basic understanding of sawmill operations
