The HR Generalist supports day-to-day human resources operations for the Allendale mill, responsible for effective execution of HR processes across, recruiting, employee relations, onboarding, training and workforce administration. This role will partner closely with mill Supervision to build the desired culture, support workforce readiness and ensure the mill is staffed, trained and compliant in all applicable regulations.

- Execute structured onboarding for all new hires
- Ensure completion of required documentation (I-9, E-Verify, policy acknowledgments)
- Coordinate new hire orientation and initial safety training
- Partner with operations to ensure effective integration into crews and shifts
- Serve as first point of contact for employee questions and concerns

- Support implementation of workforce development plans (operators, trades)
- Support payroll processing (timekeeping accuracy, corrections, approvals)
- Monitor attendance trends and report issues to leadership
- Coordinate scheduling changes with operations as needed
- Assist in building HR infrastructure for a new mill

- At least one year of HR experience (manufacturing or industrial preferred)
- Working knowledge of employment law and HR best practices
- Experience supporting hourly workforce and frontline supervisors
- Strong organizational and execution skills
- Ability to handle sensitive information with discretion
- Experience in wood products, manufacturing, or heavy industry
- Experience with HRIS systems and applicant tracking systems
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) a plus
- Industrial sawmill environment (dust, noise, outdoor exposure)
- Frequent employee interaction on the production floor
- Flexible hours required to support multiple shifts
