TITLE: Boathouse Coordinator

REPORTS TO: Tackle Box Manager

Essential Functions

The following functions are intended only as illustrations of the various types of work pe1formed. The omission of specific duties does not exclude them from the position if the work is similar, related or a logical assignment to the position.

To ensure all programs and services are fulfilled in a manner consistent with the goals and objectives of the Hampton Lake Community Association. Serves as support staff at the Boathouse.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

Community Boats, Kayaks & Bicycles:

• Management of a fleet of six (6) rental boats (4 pontoon and 2 skiffs) to include routine maintenance/repair
• Oversee all outside contracted maintenance of community boats (keep records and warranty information)
• Responsible for cleanliness and appearance of all community boats
• Maintenance and cleanliness of community kayaks
• Maintenance and cleanliness of community bicycles
• Maintain boathouse docks and appearance
• Maintain rental equipment including cane poles and rental poles and ensure they are ready for immediate use
• Assist with boat, kayak and bicycle rentals

Lake:

• Periodic lake inspections to monitor for floating debris, shoreline erosion/berm stability and shallow area development
• Develop lines of communication with lake maintenance contractors to become educated on all water quality tests and implications
• Monitor fishing structure and add or replace as necessary
• Enforce lake rules and regulations for all boaters

Nature and Wildlife:

• Conduct recreational tours (kayak, bike, walking, SUP)
• Coordinate fishing tournaments and events internally and in conjunction with the Fishing Club
• Advise and educate on natural resources and wildlife management (alligators, deer, fish, etc…)
• Oversee Outpost facilities including campsite, fire pit, gas grill and pavilion area
• Oversee Bridgeside Park pavilion and fire pit
• Arrange educational collaborations with internal and external entities
• Help grow and promote the sport of fishing in Hampton Lake
• Develop new activities/events centered around the lake and Crystal Lake

Tackle Box:

• Inventory control on all Tackle Box fishing inventory
• Maintain owner’s boat registrations (including renewals)
• Maintain golf cart registrations (including renewals)
• Oversee Dry Dock storage (yearly & daily), kayak storage and SUP storage
• Assist in Tackle Box when necessary
• Provide coffee/food service as needed

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

• Must be able to speak English in a clear and understandable voice so that multiple forms of communications may be conducted with people of various levels of education and capabilities.

• Duties will involve stooping, bending, lifting, grasping, pushing and pulling or otherwise moving objects as much as 50 lbs.
• Must be able to drive a car and possess a valid driver's license.

ENVIRONMENTAL REQUIREMENTS:

• Must be able to work on more than one assignment at a time with interruptions, changes and delays.  Must be able to remain focused and work effectively.
• Must be able to work effectively and cheerfully in an environment which may be stressful due to adversarial situations resulting from the proper performance of duties.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

• Education: High school graduate
• Experience: Customer Service, knowledge of boat handling and fishing skills

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE

• Wildlife management & boat maintenance 
• Personality: Must be able to effectively interact with all types of individuals, detail oriented with good reasoning skills.
