Maintenance/Handyman

Dual Property: Hampton & Staybridge hotels - looking for Maintenance / Handyman!

POSITION SUMMARY:

The Maintenance / Handyman is primarily responsible for the overall maintenance of the hotel’s building and grounds.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Smile and greet every guest.
• Speak to the guest in a warm, friendly and courteous manner.
• Display genuine and enthusiastic interest in the guest, pay complete attention.
• Anticipate guest needs and be flexible in responding to them.
• Maintain company and franchise maintenance standards for both guest rooms and public areas.
• Review and resolve maintenance problems, complaints and work orders to prioritize and schedule work assignments.
• Ensure that property and equipment are maintained in a safe manner and that all repairs are made.
• Maintain the integrity of the hotel’s compliance with the company’s safety and security programs, particularly for HazMat, Bloodborne Pathogens, SDS and OSHA.
• Service the hotel’s pool including cleaning, appearance and chemical balance and completing maintenance log.
• To be available for any emergencies and act in an engineering capacity to protect guests and associates, and preserve the building and its systems during the emergency.
• To monitor fire Alarm / Life Safety System systems as necessary, to be fully informed of the system operation and to handle emergencies involving the systems.
• Maintain building exterior.
• Thoroughly complete maintenance logs.
• Follow and maintain a preventative maintenance program.
• Perform or assist with periodic or scheduled cleaning projects.
• Support effective Energy Management programs as directed.
• Assist other departments when needed and perform other related duties as assigned by Chief Engineer and General Manager.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

• Must be able to communicate effectively both written and verbally.
• Must be able to stand for long periods of time.
• Must be able to lift 50 lbs.

Pay: $18.00 - $20.00 per hour

Experience:

• Maintenance / Handyman: 1 year (Required)

License/Certification:

• Driver's License (Preferred)
