Hotel Housekeeper Job Description

Position Summary

The Housekeeper is responsible for maintaining clean, comfortable, and welcoming guest rooms and public areas in accordance with hotel standards. This position plays a key role in ensuring guest satisfaction by providing exceptional cleanliness, attention to detail, and professional service.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Clean and service assigned guest rooms according to hotel brand standards.
• Make beds, change linens, and replace towels and guest amenities.
• Dust, vacuum, sweep, mop, and sanitize guest rooms and bathrooms.
• Clean mirrors, windows, fixtures, furniture, and other room surfaces.
• Remove trash and replenish room supplies as needed.
• Inspect rooms to ensure cleanliness, safety, and proper working condition.
• Report maintenance issues, damaged items, and safety concerns to management promptly.
• Maintain cleanliness of guest hallways, public areas, and housekeeping storage rooms.
• Operate housekeeping equipment safely and according to company procedures.
• Follow all safety, sanitation, and infection-control guidelines.
• Secure guest property and maintain confidentiality of guest information.
• Assist with laundry operations or special cleaning projects as assigned.
• Work collaboratively with other departments to ensure an exceptional guest experience.

Qualifications

• Previous housekeeping, cleaning, or hotel experience preferred but not required.
• Ability to work independently and efficiently with minimal supervision.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
• Excellent reliability, attendance, and work ethic.
• Ability to maintain a positive and professional demeanor.
• Basic communication skills in English; bilingual skills are a plus.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to stand, walk, bend, stoop, kneel, and reach for extended periods.
• Ability to lift, push, and pull up to 25 pounds regularly and up to 50 pounds occasionally.
• Ability to operate housekeeping carts, vacuums, and other cleaning equipment.
• Ability to work in varying temperatures and environments throughout the property.

Work Environment

• Fast-paced hospitality environment.
• May be required to work weekends, holidays, and varying shifts based on business needs.
• Regular exposure to cleaning chemicals and housekeeping equipment.

Pay: From $14.00 per hour
