Position Summary:
The Lead Maintenance Technician is responsible for overseeing daily maintenance operations within the hotel, ensuring all equipment, systems, and facilities—including the pool area—are functioning efficiently, safely, and in compliance with all health and safety standards. This position performs hands-on maintenance work, ensures timely completion of work orders and preventive maintenance tasks.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Conduct daily inspections of guest rooms, public areas, pool facilities, and back-of-house spaces to identify and resolve maintenance issues.
- Maintain and monitor all pool systems, including water chemistry, filtration, and pump operations, ensuring compliance with local health department standards.
- Test and balance pool water chemistry daily, recording results and making necessary adjustments.
- Ensure pool deck, equipment, and surrounding areas are clean, safe, and well-maintained at all times.
- Prioritize and assign maintenance work orders to ensure prompt completion.
- Monitor preventive maintenance programs for guest rooms, equipment, pool systems, and building systems.
- Maintain accurate maintenance logs, records, and equipment inventories.
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations, hotel standards, and local building and health codes.
- Coordinate with housekeeping and front desk staff to minimize guest disruptions during maintenance activities.
- Respond quickly to guest and staff maintenance requests.
- Assist with capital improvement projects and vendor coordination as needed.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of maintenance workshop and storage areas.
- Perform other duties as assigned by management.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent required; technical or trade school certification preferred.
- Working knowledge of electrical, plumbing, HVAC, pool systems, and general building systems.
- Certified Pool Operator (CPO) certification preferred or willingness to obtain.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication, leadership, and organizational skills.
- Valid driver’s license may be required.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, and lift up to 50 lbs frequently.
- Comfortable working in confined spaces, on ladders, and at varying heights.
- Ability to work indoors and outdoors under various weather conditions.
- Must be able to work in hot and humid environments around pool areas.
Work Environment:
This position operates within a hotel environment and involves interaction with guests, team members, and vendors. The role may require occasional emergency call response outside of normal working hours, including pool or spa system issues.

Pay: $17.00 - $20.00 per hour
