What are the responsibilities and job description for the Front Desk Agent position at Hampton Inn by Hilton?

We are currently looking from some who is flexible to work all shifts.

Job Summary:
Reporting to: Assistant General Manager and General Manager
Overall purpose of the job: Hotel Front Desk is the first point of contact with guests and handles all informational aspects of the guest experience.
Hotel Front Desk Agent responsibilities include welcoming guests, managing reservations and providing information about rooms, rates and amenities.
Ultimately, you will help create a pleasant and memorable experience for our guests.

MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Perform all check-in and check-out functions
  • Manage online and phone reservations, answer phone the by third ring
  • Inform customers about payment methods and verify their credit card data
  • Register guests collecting necessary information (like contact details and exact dates of their stay)
  • Welcome guests upon their arrival
  • Assign rooms
  • Provide information about our hotel, available rooms, rates and amenities
  • Respond to clients’ complaints in a timely and professional manner
  • Liaise with our housekeeping team to ensure all rooms are clean, tidy and fully-furnished to accommodate guests’ needs
  • Confirm group reservations and arrange personalized services for VIP customers and event attendees.
  • Up-sell additional facilities and services, when appropriate
  • Maintain updated records of bookings and payments
  • Maintain cleanliness of lobby and lobby restrooms throughout shift
  • Restocking of merchandise for sale
  • Other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Experience in a hotel or a related field preferred.
  • Possess a positive and upbeat personality with a desire to deliver outstanding customer service to our guests.
  • Demonstrate the ability to multi-task be detail-oriented and be able to problem solve in order to effectively deal with internal and external customers.
  • Must be able to convey information and ideas clearly.
  • Must be able to evaluate and select among alternative courses of action quickly and accurately.
  • Must work well in stressful high-pressure situations.
  • Must be effective in handling problems in the workplace including anticipating preventing identifying and solving problems as necessary.
  • Must be effective at listening to understanding and clarifying the issues raised by co-workers and guests.
  • Must be able to work with and understand financial information and data and basic arithmetic functions.
  • Ability to perform numerical operations using basic counting adding subtracting multiplying and dividing
  • Ability to read comprehend and write simple instructions and/or short correspondence and memos
  • Ability to use logic to define the problem collect information establish facts draw valid conclusions interpret information and deal with abstract variables for unique or unfamiliar situations
  • An operational knowledge of Microsoft Office suite
  • Must be willing and have the ability to work a varied schedule that will include evenings and overnight, weekends and holidays 5 days week
  • Holds an understanding of hotel products and guest services (i.e. lifestyle full service resort etc)
  • Ability to participate in the creation of an enjoyable work environment.
  • Ability to push/pull and lifting items up 30- 40 pounds

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time

Pay: From $15.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
