The Director of Sales is responsible for leading all sales efforts for the hotel to achieve revenue goals, increase market share, and maximize occupancy and profitability. This role develops and executes strategic sales plans targeting corporate, group, government, leisure, and local business markets while maintaining strong client relationships and brand standards.
Key ResponsibilitiesSales & Revenue Generation
- Develop and implement annual sales and marketing plans to achieve hotel revenue goals.
- Drive room night production through corporate accounts, group business, extended stay, and local partnerships.
- Identify new business opportunities through prospecting, networking, cold calling, and outside sales activities.
- Manage negotiated rate agreements and RFP submissions.
- Analyze STR reports, market trends, and competitor activity to adjust strategies accordingly.
- Collaborate with Revenue Management to optimize ADR, occupancy, and RevPAR.
Client Relationship Management
- Maintain strong relationships with existing clients and key accounts.
- Conduct hotel site tours and presentations for prospective clients.
- Attend networking events, trade shows, and community functions to promote the hotel.
- Ensure exceptional customer service and client satisfaction.
Marketing & Brand Compliance
- Coordinate local marketing initiatives and digital sales efforts.
- Work with brand-approved marketing channels and promotional programs.
- Ensure compliance with Hilton Worldwide Holdings Inc. brand standards and sales initiatives.
- Manage online reputation and assist with review response strategies.
Leadership & Administration
- Supervise sales coordinators or sales team members, if applicable.
- Prepare weekly sales reports, forecasts, and monthly action plans.
- Manage the sales budget and expenses.
- Participate in weekly revenue and operations meetings.
- Maintain accurate records in CRM and sales systems.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Hospitality, Business, Marketing, or related field preferred.
- 3–5 years of hotel sales experience, preferably within select-service or Hilton-branded hotels.
- Strong knowledge of hotel sales processes, revenue management, and market analysis.
- Experience with Hilton systems, Delphi, OnQ, or similar hotel sales software preferred.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
- Proven ability to meet or exceed revenue goals.
- Strong organizational and leadership abilities.
