Position Summary
The Lobby Attendant is responsible for maintaining the cleanliness, appearance, and overall presentation of the hotel's public areas. This position plays a vital role in creating a positive first impression by ensuring that the lobby, public restrooms, meeting spaces, hallways, entrances, and other guest-facing areas remain clean, organized, and welcoming throughout the day.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Maintain the cleanliness and appearance of the hotel lobby, entrances, hallways, elevators, and other public spaces.
- Clean and sanitize public restrooms regularly and restock paper products, soap, and other supplies.
- Dust, vacuum, sweep, mop, and polish floors and furniture as needed.
- Clean windows, glass doors, mirrors, and other high-touch surfaces.
- Empty trash and recycling receptacles and replace liners.
- Report maintenance concerns, safety hazards, or damaged equipment promptly.
- Keep entrances free of debris, leaves, snow, or other hazards, as weather conditions require.
- Assist with meeting room setup and cleanup when requested.
- Ensure lobby furniture is arranged neatly and free of stains or debris.
- Maintain supply closets and cleaning carts in an organized and fully stocked condition.
- Provide friendly assistance to guests by answering basic questions or directing them to the Front Desk when appropriate.
- Follow all hotel safety procedures, chemical handling guidelines, and brand standards.
- Perform other duties as assigned by management.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Previous housekeeping or custodial experience preferred but not required.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to cleanliness.
- Excellent customer service and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Flexible schedule, including weekends, holidays, and evenings.
Physical Requirements
- Stand and walk for extended periods.
- Frequently bend, stoop, kneel, and reach.
- Lift, push, and pull up to 40 pounds.
- Operate housekeeping equipment such as vacuums, floor machines, and cleaning tools.
- Work both indoors and outdoors as needed.
