POSITION: MATH INTERVENTIONIST

HCSS is seeking a Math Interventionist to support students in strengthening their mathematics skills. The Math Interventionist will work under the supervision of classroom teachers and school administrators to provide targeted academic support to students who need additional assistance in mathematics.

The Math Interventionist will assist teachers by working with students individually and in small groups, reinforcing classroom instruction, supporting skill development, and helping students build confidence in math. This position is ideal for a candidate who enjoys working with middle and/or high school students and is passionate about helping students grow academically.

QUALIFICATIONS

The ideal candidate will:

• Develop positive relationships with students.
• Provide one-on-one and small-group math support under teacher supervision.
• Assist teachers in implementing math interventions and instructional support.
• Help students improve foundational math skills and understanding of grade-level concepts.
• Support students with classwork, intervention materials, and academic practice.
• Communicate student progress and needs to supervising teachers.
• Use technology effectively to support student learning.
• Demonstrate patience, flexibility, and strong communication skills.

Prior experience teaching, tutoring, or supporting students in mathematics is preferred.

MTEL AND SALARY

Candidates who pass the required MTEL will be eligible for a salary of $45,000.
