What are the responsibilities and job description for the HR Administrative Assistant position at Hammes Staffing?
$22/hr. | Monday–Friday | 7:00 AM–5:00 PM
Looking for an administrative role where you can work with people, stay busy, and be part of a team that makes a difference?
We’re looking for an HR Administrative Assistant to join our Human Resources team and help keep the department running smoothly. This is a hands-on administrative role with plenty of variety...you’ll work with employees and applicants, support HR leadership, coordinate meetings and events, and jump in on projects and day-to-day needs.
What You'll Do
You’ll be someone the HR team can count on to keep things organized and moving. Your day may include:
- Supporting the HR Director and HR team with daily administrative needs
- Greeting and assisting employees, applicants, and visitors
- Coordinating meetings, workshops, and HR events
- Preparing reports, presentations, documents, and meeting materials
- Managing meeting schedules, rooms, technology, and catering
- Taking meeting notes and distributing minutes
- Keeping HR records, files, supplies, and workspaces organized
- Assisting with HR projects and special assignments
- Handling confidential information with care and discretion
- Pitching in wherever the HR team needs support
What You'll Bring
We’re looking for someone who has HR, administrative, or professional office experience and enjoys being the person who keeps things on track.
You’ll be a great fit if you:
- Can manage several things at once without losing the details
- Are comfortable working with employees, applicants, managers, and leadership
- Know your way around Microsoft 365, including Outlook, Word, Excel, Teams, and SharePoint
- Understand the importance of confidentiality in an HR environment
- Communicate clearly and make people feel welcome and comfortable
- Can shift gears when priorities change
- Take initiative and don’t mind jumping in to get something done
- Enjoy a role where your day isn't always the same
Experience supporting an HR department, executive, or leadership team is a plus. An associate degree in HR, Business, or a related field is preferred, but relevant experience can be just as valuable.
If you're organized, personable, resourceful, and ready to bring your administrative skills into an HR environment, we’d love to hear from you.
