Job Overview
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Manager to oversee the operations of our upscale men’s grooming spa in Bethesda. Our store offers a comprehensive range of grooming services to our valued members, provided by licensed barbers, cosmetologists, and manicurists. The Manager supports the daily operations, ensuring an exceptional client experience while driving team performance, service quality, and sales growth. This role works closely with the General Manager to lead staff, maintain brand standards, and create a premium, welcoming environment for every guest. The ideal candidate will be passionate about delivering an exceptional guest experience and fostering a positive work environment for our team.
This is a unique opportunity to get in on the ground floor of a growing 3–4 shop operation, offering strong potential for career advancement. High-performing individuals will have the ability to grow with the team and pursue opportunities to become a multi-Shop Manager and/or General Manager overseeing multiple locations.
Key Responsibilities
Operations & Customer Experience
- Oversee daily operations to ensure the smooth functioning of the grooming spa.
- Ensure every guest receives a high-quality, consistent Hammer & Nails experience.
- Implement and maintain effective operational procedures for scheduling, service flow, and shop cleanliness to enhance efficiency and service quality.
- Address and resolve guest concerns or complaints promptly and professionally to maintain guest satisfaction.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and welcoming spa environment while upholding brand standards, policies, and procedures.
Team Leadership & Development
- Lead and manage a team of licensed barbers, cosmetologists, manicurists, and front desk personnel.
- Assist in recruiting, hiring, onboarding, and training team members.
- Train, mentor, and motivate staff to achieve performance goals and uphold the spa's standards.
- Foster a culture of exceptional guest service by setting and maintaining high standards for customer satisfaction in a positive, inclusive, and high-energy work environment.
Sales & Business Performance
- Collaborate with the front desk team to drive revenue through membership sales and retention.
- Track key performance indicators (KPIs) and support strategies to meet goals.
- Encourage upselling and cross-selling opportunities.
- Help manage inventory, retail displays, and product knowledge training.
Administrative Duties
- Handle scheduling, payroll, and other administrative tasks efficiently.
- Manage inventory, supplies, and equipment to ensure proper availability and functionality.
- Support marketing initiatives, local outreach, and event execution.
- Maintain accurate records and shop documentation.
Additional responsibilities, if required.
Qualifications
- 2 years of previous experience in a managerial role within the beauty, grooming, or spa industry. Experience in men’s grooming is a plus.
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to inspire and motivate a diverse team.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Sales-driven mindset with a focus on client retention and growth.
- In-depth knowledge of grooming services, trends, and industry best practices.
- Proven track record in driving exceptional guest experiences and maintaining high service standards.
- Proficient in handling administrative tasks, including scheduling and inventory management.
- Ability to multitask and work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- A passion for the beauty and grooming industry, keeping abreast of the latest trends and techniques.
- Bachelor's degree or relevant certification in business management or a related field (preferred).
Pay: $55,000.00 - $75,000.00 per year
