Activity Bus Driver

Job Summary

We are seeking a reliable and safety-conscious individual to join our team as an Activity Bus Driver. In this role, you will be responsible for transporting students and staff to various activities and events in a safe and timely manner. The ideal candidate will have excellent driving skills, a positive attitude, and a commitment to providing exceptional service to our community.

Responsibilities

• Safely operate a school bus or activity bus to transport students and participants to designated locations.
• Ensure the safety and well-being of all passengers during transit.
• Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle to ensure it is in good working condition.
• Maintain accurate records of mileage, routes, and any incidents that occur during transportation.
• Assist students and participants in boarding and disembarking from the bus, ensuring they are seated safely.
• Follow all traffic laws and regulations, as well as established safety protocols.
• Communicate effectively with students, parents, and staff regarding transportation schedules and any changes.
• Report any mechanical issues or concerns to the transportation supervisor promptly.
• Attend training sessions and meetings as required to stay updated on safety practices and policies.
  
  

Requirements

• Valid commercial driver's license (CDL) with appropriate endorsements for passenger transport.
• Clean driving record with no major violations or accidents.
• Previous experience driving a bus or similar vehicle is preferred but not required.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends, as needed.
• Must pass a fingerprint-based background check per school board policy and drug screenings.
• CPR and first aid certification are a plus.
