About the role
We are seeking an experienced and motivated EFDA to join our growing team. You will work alongside our dentists to deliver efficient, high-quality care in a practice that sees a high volume of patients daily. No two days are the same — this role demands someone who is organized, quick on their feet, and genuinely passionate about dentistry.
Key responsibilities
- Place and finish direct composite restorations under dentist supervision
- Take and expose digital radiographs (x-rays) accurately and efficiently
- Assist with a wide range of procedures including extractions, root canals, and crown preparations
- Prepare, seat, and cement crowns, bridges, and other indirect restorations
- Perform coronal polishing and fluoride treatments
- Maintain proper sterilization and infection control protocols at all times
- Manage multiple operatories simultaneously to keep the schedule flowing smoothly
- Take accurate impressions and perform bite registrations
- Provide excellent chairside manner and patient communication throughout each visit
- Support front desk coordination for schedule management during high-volume periods
Requirements
- Active Ohio EFDA certification — required
- Current radiography certification
- Minimum 1–2 years of dental assisting experience preferred
- Ability to thrive under pressure and manage a high patient volume with professionalism
- Strong multitasking skills and the ability to pivot quickly in a fast-paced setting
- Excellent communication, attention to detail, and a positive attitude
- Familiarity with dental software (Open Dental or similar is a plus)
- Current CPR/BLS certification
