Senior React Native Developer

Hamilton Porter is a specialized technical recruiting firm offering opportunities on behalf of our clients ranging from up and coming start-ups, to software product firms, to reputable Fortune 500 enterprises. This opportunity is seeking a talented Lead to Senior level React Native Mobile Developer to join a growing Health tech start-up and serve as a Founding Engineer.

Location: Boston (Hybrid)

The company just closed their Seed Stage of Funding, so the product is in Beta Mode, with active participants, but they are ready and looking to lean on this individual to help facilitate the launch in app stores. You will essentially be the mastermind in understanding how to build, ship, and scale a clinically backend AI companion app that acts in partnership with the Doctor, as an empowering healthcare tracking tool, to active patients.

• The product has an amazing Clinical Advisory Board made up of the top medicine physicians and dietitians from Mass General, Brigham & Women’s, and Cornell Weill.

Responsibilities:

• Lead cross-platform mobile app (React Native) development
• Architect and build scalable, performant, and secure mobile features from scratch
• Collaborate directly with the CEO, Head of Product, and clinical advisors to translate clinical logic and user feedback into intuitive UX
• Integrate AI-powered coaching, food recognition, and wearable data into a seamless user experience
• Support integration of telehealth platform
• Lay the technical foundation and shape the product roadmap as a core member of the founding team, ensuring strict data privacy and HIPAA compliance
• Collaborate with technical members of clients to ensure robust product build out and pilot program success
• Spearhead hiring strategy and top-talent identification for engineering team expansion post-Seed raise
• Support “MVP” level AI model training with clinical guidelines and inputs via in-context learning with process management

Skills:

• 4-6 years of experience in mobile development, with deep expertise in React / React Native
• Experience building and shipping consumer-grade mobile apps end-to-end
• Strong product intuition and UX sensibility, especially for health and wellness users
• Startup or 0→1 experience; comfortable working in a fast-paced, iterative environment
• Experience integrating AI/ML APIs, image recognition, or wearable device data
• Familiarity with HIPAA, privacy best practices, or healthcare app development
• Team player with a bit of an entrepreneur spirit, mission driven or passionate about improving health outcomes for patients with chronic disease
