The Opportunity
The Valuation Associate will be joining a team dedicated to the valuation of our direct equity and credit portfolio. You will assist in the delivery of quarterly and monthly valuations of portfolio company securities.

The Opportunity

Your Responsibilities Will Be To
- Conduct valuation analyses of illiquid investments, including debt and equity securities, across a wide range of industries and geographies.
- Build, modify, and utilize financial models for estimating business enterprise and equity and debt instrument valuations, including discounted cash flow (DCF), market multiples, precedent transactions, and equity value allocation models.
- Perform comprehensive research on securities, industries, competitors, and capital markets, including gathering and analyzing market data, comparable ratios, and credit spreads.
- Review and analyze financial statements, investment memoranda, and transaction documents to develop a thorough understanding of the assets being valued.
- Prepare and review clear, well-organized valuation reports and presentations for internal and external stakeholders.
- Direct and review the work of junior analysts, providing guidance and ensuring high-quality deliverables.
- Support valuation conclusions and respond to auditor inquiries regarding valuation analyses.
- Manage multiple assignments and prioritize tasks to meet critical deadlines.
- Collaborate with team members across the firm to ensure high-quality, timely completion of assignments in a fast-paced environment.
- Ad hoc projects as assigned.
- Bachelor’s, or Master’s degree, in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field from an accredited institution required.
- 3 years of experience in valuation, financial modeling, or a related analytical role.
- Strong understanding of financial statement analysis and valuation methodologies.
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word required, with advanced proficiency in Excel and financial modeling, including expertise using market data sources such as S&P Capital IQ, a plus.
- Excellent analytical, quantitative, and problem-solving skills, with proven record of solving complex problems and completing challenging projects.
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a collaborative team.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Experience mentoring or guiding junior team members.
- Previous valuation experience in independent valuation advisory/Big 4 Firm/asset management, a plus.
- Exposure to a broad range of industries and security types.
- Master’s degree and/or achievement or progress towards a CFA or relevant professional certification, a plus.
- Expertise using market data sources such as S&P Capital IQ, a plus.
- Must be eligible to work in the United States without requiring sponsorship.
