Job Overview: The Hamilton County Prosecutor’s Office is seeking an HR Extern to support the HR department with day-to-day administrative tasks while gaining hands on experience in the workplace operations. As an HR Extern, you will have an opportunity to assist with projects that improve operations, enhance employee resources, and support the Prosecutor’s Office workforce.
Responsibilities and Duties:
- Assists with a variety of HR projects that may support all areas of HR department.
- Assists with organizing and maintaining HR data, records, and documents to support daily operations. Helps review information for accuracy, organize electronic files, and maintain tracking tools and spreadsheets. Provides general administrative and project support to the HR team by preparing materials, organizing information, and supporting assigned tasks while maintaining confidentiality. Through these activities, gains exposure to core HR operations, data management, and public-sector HR practices.
- Assists with creating job descriptions for each position, helps with recruiting by reviewing applicants for minimum qualifications on job postings, coordinating interviews, and conducting background checks.
- Assists with new employee orientations. Prepare and process all new hire paperwork in all HR systems.
- Maintains accurate personnel records and ensures proper filing of documentation in personnel files.
- Performs other duties as needed.
- Enrolled in degree program in Human Resources, Business Administration, Public Administration, or related field.
- Ability to pay close attention to detail and be flexible in a fast-paced organization.
- Organizational skills to keep an accurate record of documentation.
- Proficient technology usage skills.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Ability to operate scanners, copiers and printers.
