Position Overview:
Hamilton Construction Co. is seeking an experienced Project Manager to lead heavy civil construction projects from preconstruction through closeout. This role is responsible for overall project success, including planning, execution, budget management, scheduling, safety, and team leadership. The ideal candidate is a strong communicator and decision-maker with deep experience managing complex infrastructure projects.
Responsibilities:
- Lead all phases of project execution, ensuring performance in schedule, cost, equipment, manpower, materials, safety, and quality.
- Manage project budgets, forecasts, and cost controls to ensure profitability.
- Develop and maintain project schedules and ensure timely completion of milestones.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with owners, engineers, subcontractors, and regulatory agencies.
- Interpret and administer contracts, manage change orders, and resolve disputes.
- Champion and enforce company safety standards and promote a culture of safety on all job sites.
- Oversee and support field teams, including Superintendents, Project Engineers, and field staff.
- Mentor, train, and develop team members to strengthen overall project performance.
- Provide regular reporting on project status, risks, and financial performance.
Requirements:
- 10 years of progressive experience in heavy civil construction, including bridges, highways, transit, or rail projects.
- Proven experience managing large, complex infrastructure projects.
- Experience with DOT and USACE projects preferred.
- Bachelor's degree in engineering, Construction Management, or related field; P.E. license is a plus.
- Strong knowledge of construction means and methods, scheduling, and cost control.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office; experience with HeavyBid, Primavera P6, and Viewpoint is a plus.
- Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work in a variety of field and office environments and access all areas of active construction sites.
- Valid driver's license.
- This is a Safety Sensitive Position; a drug screen is required.
