We are hiring for a Fiber Optic Technician to support installation, splicing, troubleshooting, and repair work across the tri-state area. This is a fast-paced field role for someone comfortable adapting to changing schedules and working on both live and dark fiber.
Responsibilities
- Splice, fuse, prepare, and install fiber optic cables.
- Work on both live and dark fiber.
- Install terminal boxes and auxiliary equipment.
- Troubleshoot fiber issues and complete repairs.
- Record accurate splicing details and field notes.
- Use EXFO OTDR and iOLM software for testing and analysis.
- Follow OSHA, state, city, and company safety requirements.
Required Skills
- Previous construction or installation experience required.
- Experience splicing, fusing, preparing, and installing fiber optic cable.
- Experience working on live and dark fiber.
- Knowledge of EXFO OTDR and iOLM software required.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Able to travel to Staten Island and work throughout the tri-state.
- Able to work in varied weather, confined spaces, and at elevations using ladders or scissor lifts.
