Hamden Rehabilitation & Health Care Center is looking for an Assistant Director of Nursing! Hamden Healthcare is a 153-bed skilled nursing and rehabilitation facility situated in Hamden, Connecticut. We specialize in short- and long-term care and have a secure memory care unit. We are located right in the heart of New Haven County, in close proximity to Yale New Haven Hospitals, yet conveniently only seconds from route 10, which runs throughout New Haven County.

Assistant Director of Nursing/ ADON Responsibilities
- Assist the Director of Nursing in planning, developing, and directing the overall operation of the Nursing Department.
- Provide managerial support and clinical guidance to nursing personnel
- Supervise, mentor, and evaluate nursing staff, promoting teamwork and professional growth.
- Monitor compliance with state, federal, and facility regulations
- Participate in hiring, orientation, and ongoing education of nursing personnel.
- Oversee daily staffing process
- Direct, oversee and evaluate nursing personnel
- Conduct rounds to observe and evaluate the quality of nursing care and address issues promptly.
- Guide staffing procedures
- Set objectives and long-term goals for the nursing department
- Organize and coordinate admission, nursing and patient care procedures
- Develop and implement policies that will ensure regulatory compliance and foster high quality standards
- Monitor nursing budget and related expenditures
- Resolve issues and deficiencies
- Manage record-keeping procedures
- Collaborate with other departments and professionals to streamline operations
- Serve as acting Director of Nursing in the DON’s absence.
Assistant Director of Nursing / ADON Qualifications
- Current Registered Nurse License
- Strong leadership, organizational, and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to effectively communicate with nursing personnel in a health care setting
- Excellent computer skills, including experience with EMR's
- Demonstrate competence in leadership and relevant clinical experience.
- Ability to work flexible hours, when necessary
- Knowledge of regulatory compliance, Quality Improvement initiatives and general nursing theory and practices in accordance with CMS and DPH guidelines.
- Understanding of basic budgeting and financial reporting
- Willingness to keep abreast of changing standards in nursing administration
- Excellent ability to lead and develop personnel
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Outstanding organizational and stress management skills
- Aptitude in problem-solving
- Degree in nursing; Master’s degree in nursing or healthcare administration is a plus
Salary $105,000 yearly. (NEGOTIABLE)
