We're seeking an experienced Registered Nurse (RN) to join our leadership team as our Assistant Director of Nursing (ADON). About the Role

As the Assistant Director of Nursing, you'll serve as a key member of the clinical leadership team, partnering closely with the Director of Nursing to oversee daily nursing operations and ensure the delivery of exceptional resident care.

This role offers the opportunity to broaden your operational and leadership experience while helping develop a high-performing nursing team.

Responsibilities

  • Provide daily clinical leadership and operational support to the nursing department.
  • Partner with the Director of Nursing to ensure outstanding resident care and positive clinical outcomes.
  • Serve as the nursing leader in the Director of Nursing's absence.
  • Mentor, coach, and develop nurses and nursing assistants through orientation, education, and ongoing support.
  • Assist with admissions, resident assessments, and care planning.
  • Lead quality improvement initiatives focused on clinical excellence and regulatory compliance.
  • Promote survey readiness and ensure compliance with federal, state, and organizational standards.
  • Monitor documentation, clinical practices, and quality indicators.
  • Coordinate staff education, competency validation, and mandatory training.
  • Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, continuous improvement, and resident-centered care.

Qualifications

  • Current Connecticut Registered Nurse (RN) license required
  • Previous experience in skilled nursing or long-term care required
  • Prior nursing leadership or supervisory experience strongly preferred
  • Strong understanding of CMS regulations and nursing standards of practice
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and coaching skills
  • Passion for developing people and building strong teams
