What are the responsibilities and job description for the DSP (Direct Support Professional) position at Hamaspik of Rockland County - HCBS Department?
A child in Monroe needs someone grounded who can bring steady support throughout the day. This child needs full help with movement, bathroom care and simple routines, with a focus on safety and calm communication. The goal is to teach basic hygiene and build simple safety skills in a predictable way.
Shifts Available:
Saturday, *or* Sunday: 11am-5pm
Monday: 11am-5pm
Skills:
- Mentor and assist clients in their daily living activities
- Provide a safe and nurturing environment for all clients and staff
- Build positive relationships with clients and staff
- Strong interpersonal skills with a passion for assisting those in need
- Possesses a friendly disposition with a positive "can do" attitude
- Ability to work independently and consistently exercise good judgment
Qualifications:
- Caregiving experience required
- Experience working with individuals with behavioral challenges required
- Availability to work flexible hours
- Clean driver's licence
Required: Successful background check and fingerprinting
