What are the responsibilities and job description for the Homecare Specialist position at HAMASPIK CHOICE INC?
Job Overview:
The Homecare specialist is responsible for the complete coordination of home care benefits which include PCA, CDPAS, HHA and skilled services from the initial referral of PCA services, securing coverage and following up on the actual start of care for services secured. Responsibilities include coordination of home care services for new members, existing members and ongoing communication with all home care providers regarding services that are already in place for members.
Essential Responsibilities:
- Securing PCA coverage for all members aiming to have 0 cases without coverage daily
- Request from care managers members who don’t have PCA coverage.
- Refer new enrollees to PCA providers
- Call vendors to follow up
- Document in members chart
- Notify authorization department and care manager when services will start
- Other duties as identified as a necessary part of employee’s role
Specific Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Proficient in the use of office equipment and the computer; Microsoft Word and Excel.
- Self-directing, good organizational and interpersonal skills.
- Demonstrates good customer skills on telephone.
