Position Summary

We are seeking an Accounts Payable Specialist to support the company's day-to-day accounting operations, with a focus on accurate and timely processing of invoices and financial records. Reporting to the AP Supervisor and Accounting Manager, this role owns the front end of the accounts payable cycle, handles routine reconciliations, and maintains clean, audit-ready records. This is a full-time, 100% in-office role based in Honolulu.

Key Responsibilities

Accounts Payable

• Enter, code, and process vendor invoices for payment
• Verify invoice accuracy against purchase orders and receiving documents
• Monitor expenses for proper classification and documentation
• Assist with monthly reconciliations of bank and credit card statements
• Maintain and update accounting records and files
• Support daily banking activities (deposits, data entry)
• Post entries to the general ledger
• Help prepare documentation for 1099s and other tax-related forms
• Provide administrative support for employee benefits paperwork as needed
• Assist with gathering documentation for annual audits
• Follow company accounting policies and procedures

Qualifications

• Prior accounts payable, bookkeeping, or data entry experience required
• Working understanding of accounting fundamentals (AP cycle, GL coding, reconciliations)
• Associate's degree or accounting coursework a plus
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
• Comfortable working with numbers and spreadsheets (Excel/Google Sheets)
• Good written and verbal communication skills
• Team-oriented, reliable, and dependable

Work Schedule

• Monday through Friday, with an earlier start time preferred (6-7am)
• Position is 100% on-site
