Responsibilities:
The Fastening/ Calibration Lab Technician will be responsible for fulfilling the following tasks when required:
- To be responsible for reporting to the Fastening Supervisor, Plant Manager, and Supply Chain all issues regarding sub-component supply and workforce shortcomings that may affect the production efficiency of the technology department.
- To obey all safety rules and practice at all times within the department while performing their job duties.
- To ensure you understand the importance that products are manufactured and assembled with the highest degree and attention to quality, in compliance with ISO 17025 standards.
- To be aware of and follow all environmental practices within the torque department.
- To initiate and facilitate the standardization and documentation process of production practices within the department and help to develop production processes for new products.
- Identify and recommend opportunities for improvement and work with functional departments such as engineering, IT and HR, and operations to continuously improve processes, develop skills and training as well as product and equipment enhancements.
- Field calls from customers - troubleshooting torque equipment.
- Describing how torque systems function and understanding how the customer's equipment is set up/ installed.
- Follow up with customers via phone and email.
- Create RMAs (when needed).
- Create an RMA document (Syspro), sending the document to proper Haltec personnel as well as the customer.
- Updating all RMA documentation with proper notes, seeing all paperwork through from RMA issue to RMA close.
- Repairing and Calibrating Torque Wrenches (with and without RMAs).
- Identify differences between multiple torque wrenches.
- Identify issues and repair.
- Able to learn the calibration process.
- Creating repair quotes and sending them to customers.
- Await confirmation of repair and deliver quote to customer service for order entry.
- Document all repairs – save records.
- Assist in the diagnosis, examination, and repair/calibration of torque wrenches.
- Repairing/ Troubleshooting PneuSpector’s (as needed).
- Creating repair quotes to invoice parts installed in equipment.
- Assist with examining, troubleshooting, and diagnosing equipment as needed.
- Calibrate Digital/ Analog Gauges.
- Assist Sales and Service Technicians.
- Assist sales with questions regarding equipment.
- Assist field techs when on-site – giving directions on how to fix/ repair a multitude of situations.
- Assist with Shipping as needed
- Properly packaging product.
- Must know how to operate the shipping software correctly.
- Follow Workflow in the Torque Department.
- Communicate with employees regarding the priority of inflators.
- Complete expense reports (if applicable).
- Work with project managers, engineering, IT and QC for various projects.
- Document and keep a record of past RMAs.
- Thorough and complete documentation of all repairs and calibrations
- This is a must as the importance of torque in the field is paramount to all safety programs.
- Perform other tasks and assignments as needed and specified by Management.
