Halsey Drug is looking to hire an individual who is positive, polite, friendly and focused on providing quality customer service to their clients. The ideal candidate would be dependable, organized, shows initiative and enjoys working with people. This individual will work as a cashier as well as a pharmacy technician. This position is for full-time employment.
JOB QUALIFICATIONS:
1. Knowledge of basic drug terminology and pharmaceutical calculations.
2. Ability to work with others.
3. Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
4. Possess good organizational and time management skills.
5. Proficient in data entry and use of a computer.
6. Possesses the ability and initiative to plan for and complete daily activities with minimal direction.
7. Dependable in attendance and job performance.
JOB REQUIREMENTS
1. Collects prescriptions and identifies medication for dispensing. Pulls appropriate drug bottle from shelf.
2. Under the direction of a pharmacist, assembles and packages medication according to prescription.
3. Prepares and affixes labels in accordance with the dispensing order and under the supervision of a pharmacist.
4. Gathers appropriate “Drug Information Material” as needed for prescribed drug.
5. Answers the telephone and forwards to appropriate person.
6. General knowledge of Medicare, Medicaid, and insurance billing.
7. Assist customers with non-medical questions as appropriate-refers to pharmacist on duty for medication questions/concerns.
8. Able to perform computer & cash register operations.
9. Cleans work station and shelves as needed. Keeps area uncluttered and organized as per organizational policy and procedure.
10. Attends designated staff meetings as scheduled.
11. Assists pharmacist with ordering process of medications and supplies.
12. Performs other tasks or duties as requested.
