Overview:
HALO is seeking a dynamic and compassionate Learning Center Program Facilitator to help lead our Jefferson City Learning Center programs to empower at-risk and homeless youth. This full-time position blends strategic program facilitation with hands-on relationship building, offering a unique opportunity to directly shape the future of the youth we serve.
As a key driver of HALO’s trauma-informed, youth-centered approach, this role requires both a deep sense of empathy and strong facilitation acumen. You’ll work with HALO Center staff and in the community, alongside a team of volunteers to provide essential programs and ensure that every young person who walks through our doors experiences belonging, hope, and the resources they need to thrive.
Responsibilities
Program Facilitation & Youth Empowerment:
- Foster meaningful, authentic relationships with youth, creating a safe, inclusive, and empowering environment.
- Focus on youth recruitment and retention, ensuring the HALO Center is reaching the maximum potential and capacity for youth.
- Lead life-changing programs that motivate youth to believe in their potential, take bold steps forward, and transform their lives.
- Ensure efficacy, quality, consistency, and alignment with the needs of homeless and at-risk youth.
- Identify emerging needs and assist Director in implementing new services or pilot programs that create long-term impact.
- Lead on data entry and tracking of youth progress and program success.
Community Engagement & Collaboration:
- Assist in maintaining beneficial partnerships with local school districts (JCPS, alternative schools) and community organizations to increase outreach and support services.
- Maintain partnerships to provide wraparound care—mental health, medical, employment, and more—for youth.
- Assist Director to represent HALO in the community through events, outreach, and strategic collaborations to expand our impact.
- Answer Center phone line, responding to inquiries for services in a 24 hour period, connecting donors or volunteers to JC Director and/or Coordinator for further involvement.
Center Maintenance:
- Oversee maintenance of Center buildings and spaces. Ensure all spaces are stocked with necessary supplies to facilitate programs and fulfille youth needs.
- Take leadership role in respecting satellite spaces such as Central Church or community centers, leaving spaces as clean as you found them upon program completion
- Report any facility maintenance issues to Jefferson City Director, utilizing problem-solving skills to address immediate concerns while awaiting further instruction.
Qualifications

- Experience in youth-focused program facilitation preferred, ideally within a trauma-informed or nonprofit setting.
- Excellent communication and relationship-building abilities across diverse populations of youth..
- Strategic thinker with the ability to execute, and assess impactful programs.
- Adaptability, resilience, and a passion for helping young people overcome adversity.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office; familiarity with Slack, Apricot or other case management systems a plus.
- Must be 21 or older with a valid driver’s license and clean driving record; background check required.
