Hallmark Youthcare is seeking a motivated and experienced Staff Development Trainer to join our Human Resources team. Reporting to the Human Resources Manager, this position is responsible for planning, coordinating, and delivering employee training and professional development programs that promote staff competency, regulatory compliance, and quality resident care.
The Staff Development Trainer plays a critical role in onboarding new employees, facilitating mandatory education, and supporting the ongoing development of clinical and non-clinical staff within our residential treatment facility.

The employee must be able to sit, stand, walk, bend, kneel, reach, and occasionally lift or move up to 30 pounds. The role requires the ability to conduct classroom presentations, demonstrate physical intervention techniques as needed, and work in a fast-paced healthcare environment while maintaining professionalism and attention to detail.

Essential Responsibilities
- Coordinate and facilitate comprehensive new employee orientation programs.
- Develop, schedule, and deliver ongoing staff education and professional development initiatives.
- Conduct training in CPR, First Aid, and Handle With Care behavioral management techniques (Train-the-Trainer certification will be provided).
- Prepare instructional materials, presentations, competency assessments, and post-training evaluations.
- Maintain accurate training records and ensure timely documentation within the designated learning management system or database.
- Monitor employee compliance with required certifications and mandatory annual training.
- Research and implement new educational opportunities that support employee development and organizational goals.
- Assist in designing and enhancing training curricula to improve workforce performance and engagement.
- Coordinate special projects related to staff education, compliance, and organizational initiatives.
- Collaborate with department leaders to identify training needs and support performance improvement efforts.
- Participate in departmental meetings, committees, and quality improvement initiatives as assigned.
- Ensure all training programs comply with facility policies and applicable state, federal, licensing, accreditation, and regulatory requirements.
- Foster a positive learning environment while promoting professionalism, teamwork, and exceptional customer service throughout the organization.
- Graduate of an accredited Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) or Registered Nurse (RN) program or
- Bachelor's degree in Education, Social Work, Nursing, Human Services, Psychology, or a related field.
- Excellent presentation, communication, and organizational skills.
- Ability to effectively facilitate classroom and hands-on instruction.
- Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Office and electronic documentation systems.
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Social Work, Education, Nursing, or a related discipline.
- Experience delivering employee training in a behavioral health, mental health, healthcare, or residential treatment setting.
- Minimum of one year of clinical teaching or staff development experience.
- Experience working with adolescents in a residential psychiatric or behavioral health environment.
- Certified Handle With Care Instructor.
- Current CPR and First Aid Instructor certification.
- Active RN or LPN license.
