Purchasing Assistant – Ontario, CA
Hallmark Floors is seeking a highly motivated Purchasing Assistant to join our Ontario team. This role involves daily communication with overseas factories; therefore, proficiency in both Mandarin Chinese and English is required. Candidates should have an interest in or prior experience within the manufacturing and flooring industry.
Key Responsibilities
- Monitor inventory levels and assist with inventory planning to support purchasing decisions
- Track order status daily using NetSuite and Excel
- Communicate with overseas factories to ensure timely production and delivery
- Coordinate with customs brokers and freight forwarders
- Assist with customs documentation, duties, and import compliance to ensure timely clearance of shipments
- Prepare correspondence and reports as needed
Qualifications
- Bilingual in Mandarin Chinese and English
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment
- Capable of managing multiple projects and meeting deadlines
- Strong sense of urgency and customer service mindset
- Team-oriented, self-motivated, detail-oriented, and accurate
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel
- Proficient in NetSuite (preferred but not required)
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in global importing (preferred)
