Position Summary
Hallbrook Country Club is seeking an accomplished and dynamic Director of Junior Racquets to lead, develop, and grow a best-in-class junior racquets program. This leadership role is responsible for creating a comprehensive, high-quality junior development pathway that reflects Hallbrook’s commitment to excellence, sportsmanship, and member satisfaction. The Director will oversee all junior tennis and pickleball programming, coaching staff, tournaments, clinics, camps, and player development initiatives.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Program Development & Leadership
- Design and implement a structured junior racquets development pathway for all ages and skill levels.
- Establish short- and long-term goals for junior participation, player development, and competitive success.
- Collaborate with the Director of Racquets and club leadership to align junior programming with club standards and strategic objectives.
Coaching & Instruction
- Provide high-level instruction and mentorship to junior players, from beginner through advanced and competitive levels.
- Develop curriculum-based lesson plans, clinics, and camps focused on technical skills, strategy, fitness, and sportsmanship.
- Serve as a positive role model who fosters a fun, inclusive, and disciplined learning environment.
Staff Management
- Recruit, train, schedule, and evaluate junior racquets teaching professionals and assistants.
- Lead ongoing staff development to ensure consistent teaching standards and exceptional member experience.
- Promote teamwork, professionalism, and accountability among junior racquets staff.
Tournaments, Events & Competition
- Organize and oversee junior tournaments, match play, leagues, and competitive travel opportunities.
- Coordinate USTA and local competitive programming as appropriate.
- Communicate schedules, expectations, and results clearly with players and parents.
Member & Parent Relations
- Build strong relationships with junior members and their families through effective communication and engagement.
- Address questions, concerns, and feedback in a professional and timely manner.
- Promote junior programs through club communications, events, and personal interaction.
Administration & Operations
- Assist in budgeting, forecasting, and financial management related to junior racquets programs.
- Manage registration, attendance tracking, reporting, and program evaluation.
- Ensure all programs adhere to club policies, safety standards, and best practices.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 3–5 years of experience directing or leading junior racquets programs at a private club, academy, or high-level facility.
- Strong background in junior player development and competitive programming.
- USPTA, PTR, or equivalent professional certification preferred.
- Proven leadership, organizational, and communication skills.
- Passion for junior development and delivering exceptional member experiences.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
Physical & Work Requirements
- Ability to demonstrate racquet skills and actively participate in on-court instruction.
- Ability to stand, walk, and perform physical activity for extended periods.
- Work performed both indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions.
