Greenskeeper II

POSITION PURPOSE:
Greenskeepers perform a wide range of manual labor tasks associated with maintaining the golf course and surrounding property. This includes all maintenance practices related to course features and other areas as directed by management.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Perform daily course setup, including changing hole locations and preparing tee boxes while considering turf health, pace of play, and member satisfaction.
• Maintain optimal greens conditions through topdressing, plugging, hand-watering, mowing, and rolling as directed.
• Operate heavy equipment such as loaders, dump trucks, skid steers, backhoes, and tractors with various implements.
• Operate riding mowers to maintain fairways, roughs, native areas, greens, aprons, and approaches.
• Use hand-operated equipment including walk mowers, string trimmers, edgers, blowers, and chainsaws.
• Apply fertilizers and chemicals under management supervision.
• Assist with team projects such as aerification, irrigation work, drainage, and course construction.
• Maintain clubhouse grounds by mowing, pruning, planting, and debris removal.
• Prepare and maintain course amenities, including cleaning restrooms, removing trash, restocking water coolers, and managing inventory.
• Maintain bunkers by mowing and edging surrounds, raking sand (hand and machine), and ensuring proper sand levels.
• Maintain non-turf areas by removing debris, edging mulch beds, and maintaining cart paths.
• Perform additional turf care tasks such as filling divots, edging sprinkler heads, and maintaining course accessories.
• Assist with other duties as assigned by the Golf Course Superintendent or management team.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:

• Previous landscaping, grounds maintenance, or golf course experience preferred
• Ability to learn and safely operate all tools and equipment
• Strong teamwork and communication skills
• Ability to follow verbal instructions effectively
• Reliable attendance and strong work ethic

PHYSICAL & ENVIRONMENTAL DEMANDS:

• Ability to lift at least 50 pounds regularly
• Capable of performing physically demanding labor for extended periods in outdoor conditions
