The ideal candidate demonstrates exceptional attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and the ability to work collaboratively with pharmacists, technicians, and other team members to support efficient and accurate prescription processing.
Key Responsibilities
Data Entry:
- Accurately input prescription details, including medication names, dosages, and directions, into the pharmacy system.
- Verify patient and provider information to ensure accuracy and completeness.
- Review and cross-check prescription data for accuracy and compliance with pharmacy and regulatory guidelines.
- Identify and report discrepancies or missing information to the appropriate personnel.
- Maintain strict adherence to HIPAA and other regulatory requirements to protect patient confidentiality.
- Ensure compliance with pharmacy laws and organizational policies.
- Collaborate with pharmacists, technicians, and in house team members to resolve prescription issues.
- Update patient profiles with accurate and current prescription data.
- Assist in maintaining organized and up-to-date digital or physical prescription records.
- Use pharmacy software systems efficiently to input and retrieve data.
- Report system errors or technical issues to IT or the appropriate department
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Outstanding organizational and time management skills.
- Ability to multitask and prioritize daily workload.
- High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
- Is discreet and can handle confidential matters, exercises good judgement.
- High school diploma or equivalent ( required ); additional certification in pharmacy or healthcare - related fields is a plus.
- Proficiency in pharmacy , medical software systems and/or prescriptions is a plus.
- Prior experience in data entry , pharmacy or healthcare setting is advantageous.
- Must possess an active Pharmacy Technician (Florida) License.
- Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
- May require working shifts, including evenings or weekends, depending on the pharmacy’s operating hours and needs.
