Key Responsibilities
- Receive and review prescription orders for accuracy and completeness.
- Prepare, fill, and label prescriptions according to the pharmacist’s verification.
- Retrieve, count, pour, weigh, measure, and sometimes mix medications.
- Maintain inventory of medications and supplies; report shortages promptly.
- Operate and maintain automated filling or counting equipment.
- Assist pharmacists with workflow to ensure timely dispensing.
- Maintain a clean and organized filling area that meets safety and compliance standards.
- Verify patient and medication information to avoid errors.
- Package and prepare completed prescriptions for pickup, delivery, or shipment.
- Adhere to HIPAA and all confidentiality regulations.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Registered Pharmacy Technician license, as required by state regulations.
