Hall & Evans, LLC, one of Denver’s most established defense law firms has a full-time opening for a Paralegal Manager in our Downtown Denver office. 


The Paralegal Manager oversees and has direct management responsibility for the Paralegal team. This responsibility includes hiring new paralegals, managing Paralegal performance, overseeing time management, and writing/delivering performance feedback and reviews. Day to day, the Paralegal Manager will monitor productivity, provide support and guidance with day-to-day work questions, processes & procedures, and job training & development. The Paralegal Manager ensures Paralegal teams run smoothly, meet all requirements and deadlines as assigned, and supports all practice areas as needed. The Paralegal Manager will have an annual billable hour requirement of 1,000 hours. 


This position will be in person for 90 days, with the ability to move to a Hybrid schedule. 

 

Responsibilities 

  • Oversee and manage the paralegal team’s productivity, providing on-going training and assisting new paralegals with onboarding and position ramp-up.
  • Leads by example to foster a productive work environment.
  • Assist and Engage with the Senior Litigation & Mentoring Manager to monitor work productivity and coach Paralegals as needed to ensure work requirements are met timely and accurately.
  • Keeps the Senior Litigation & Mentoring Manager up to date on Paralegal hiring needs, performance issues, coverage issues, etc.
  • Point person for Paralegals for all questions, concerns, needs, etc.
  • Escalation point for urgent requests as needed during and outside normal business hours.
  • Trains and mentors new Paralegals; checks in with new hires on a regular basis to ensure training and processes and procedures are understood. 
  • Assist and Engage with the Senior Litigation & Mentoring Manager to monitor training needs and provides job specific training, feedback, and is available to answer Paralegal questions.
  • Manages staffing assignments and adjusts staff placements as needed to meet needs of all practice areas. Identifies staffing gaps and hiring needs.
  • Excellent attendance and reliability;
  • Maintains Paralegal responsibilities and supports attorneys and practice areas as assigned, including draft pleadings, discovery, and routine correspondence.
  • Anticipates attorneys' needs, identifies problems, and finds solutions. 
Requirements
  • 3 years Management/Supervisory experience (law firm preferred).
  • Training and mentoring experience, a plus. 
  • Multi-state civil litigation experience, required. 
  • Proficient billing time and able to meet minimum annual billing requirements.
  • Well-developed writing and research skills.
  • Intermediate to advanced skill level in Microsoft Office Excel, Word, and Outlook.
  • Ability to develop and maintain cooperative working relationships with a wide variety of clients, attorneys, co-workers, and administrative staff.
  • Exercise a high degree of tact, discretion, and sound judgment.
  • Ability to multi-task in a complex work environment.
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to prioritize a high-volume workload to meet time-critical deadlines.
  • High level of integrity and personal accountability.

Education

  • ABA Paralegal Certificate, or equivalent experience required.
  • Bachelor’s or Associate’s degree, preferred. 

The hiring range for this position is $90,000 to $115,000 annually.
