What are the responsibilities and job description for the HR Generalist I position at Halff?
- Provides support to the HR department in all aspects of human resources management.
- Coordinates and facilitates the new hire onboarding process, including processing new hire information, working closely with hiring managers to ensure data accuracy, and conducts new hire orientation.
- Manages employment screening including, pre-employment background screens and drug screens, and random drug screening program. Conducts initial adjudication on all screens and escalates when required.
- Maintains employee records and ensures accurate and up-to-date information in the HRIS (Human Resources Information System).
- Provides support to management with immigration processes for new and existing employees.
- May provide support in employee relations activities, including conflict resolution and disciplinary procedures.
- May provide support the performance management processes, including coordinating performance evaluations and maintaining related documentation.
- Assist in the implementation and enforcement of HR policies and procedures.
- Ensure compliance with employment laws and regulations.
- Support various HR projects and initiatives as assigned.
- Strong knowledge of HR principles, practices, and regulations.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize and multitask effectively.
- Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy in all work.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and HRIS systems.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information.
- Problem-solving skills and the ability to exercise good judgment.
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build relationships with employees at all levels of the organization.

- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
- This is an entry-level HR role with 0-2 years of experience required
- Prolonged periods sitting or standing at a desk and working on a computer.
- Must be able to lift up to 20 pounds.
- Must be able to travel to various project sites.
- Must be able to access and navigate job sites and construction areas.
