Free Course Instruction With Full-time Or Part-Time Employment

Free Course Instruction With Full-time Or Part-Time Employment
- Course schedule will commence January 2026 (anticipate 2-3 days per week)
- Duration: 100 hours, in-person instruction
- Course instruction provided by State approved Nurse Aide Training Program
- Work as a Nurse Aide will commence following program completion at Hale Makua Kahului
- Final step will include Prometric Exam to obtain Certified Nurse Aide status
Nurse Aides/CNA's are the primary caregivers in post-acute and long-term care settings, providing nursing care and services for residents, that include personal and restorative care and activities of daily living.
- Ohana Nurse Aides (NA/CNA) orient new residents to the unit and facility: Call system, bathroom, shower schedule, and common areas; introduces to residents; informs of meal schedule, snack times, and activities calendar.
- Nurse Aides (NA/CNA) respond to resident calls, call bells, call lights, and alarms immediately. Responds to family requests. Informs Charge Nurse when required.
- High School Diploma or equivalent / Minimum age of 18
- Completion of Hawaii Nurse Aide Training Program.
- Scheduled Prometric exam within 120 days of hire.
- Current and valid 2 Step TB clearance and health review (can be done in-house).
