The Role
As a Litigation Paralegal at Hale Law, you’ll be the backbone of our trial team — coordinating the details before, during, and after trial and supporting attorneys through every phase of the litigation process. Based in our Sarasota office, you’ll conduct legal research and case investigations, draft and file pleadings and motions, manage case files and deadlines, and help prepare everything the team needs to advocate effectively for our clients, from discovery through trial and settlement.
We’re looking for an experienced, highly organized paralegal with strong knowledge of litigation procedure, sharp writing and communication skills, and the ability to juggle multiple deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct pre-claim investigations, legal research, and initial case assessments
- Draft pleadings, motions, and appellate documents, and file them with the court
- Maintain pleadings and discovery indexes, and organize exhibits, documents, evidence, briefs, and appendices
- Assist attorneys with interrogatories and other discovery requests, gathering relevant information from a variety of sources
- Handle administrative coordination, including calendaring hearings and deadlines, organizing case files, and managing trial logistics
- Help with voir dire, jury selection, and witness preparation
- Serve as liaison between the trial team and internal and external parties, and assist with case settlements
Qualifications
- Proven experience as a litigation paralegal
- Working knowledge of motions, discovery, evidence, litigation documentation, and court rules and procedures
- Highly organized, with the ability to juggle multiple deadlines in a fast-paced environment
- Strong writing and communication skills, with sharp attention to detail
- Extensive computer and database proficiency
- Paralegal associate’s degree or other relevant certification
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $55,000.00 - $70,000.00 per year
