Job Title: Marketing Intern 

Division/Department: Marketing and Communications 

Location: Westwood, MA 

Job Status: Seasonal 

Reports To: Marketing Manager 

Pay: $15/hour  

FLSA Status: Non-Exempt 


Summary 

Hale’s Marketing Intern assists the Marketing and Communications department and works closely with the Marketing Manager on a variety of tasks during the height of summer programs. They create content for social media and Google sites, write and edit articles, photograph activities, help manage digital assets, and complete other duties as assigned. 


Dependent upon skills and interests, responsibilities may include, but are not limited to: 

  • Draft social media posts, including weekly social media lookback posts for Hale Summer Camps, Hale’s Family and Community Program, and HOLA, upcoming holiday and event posts, awareness months, and more. 
  • Visit Hale Day Camp, Hale MTB Camp, Hale Adventure Camp, and Hale’s Family and Community Program once per session to perform interviews and gather content for parent/guardian communications, including camp highlights and summer staff awards and then draft content.  
  • Contribute to Hale Magazine. 
  • Update and manage a local distribution list for Hale’s marketing materials, then distribute marketing materials to these locations. 
  • Prepare promotional packages. 
  • Assist Enrollment Coordinator with postcard retention project and marketing swag inventory.  
  • Maintain professional appearance and attire.  
  • Uphold the core values of Hale Education, Inc.

  • Create and maintain a reputation for credibility, integrity, and fairness.

Qualifications

Education and Experience: A High School Diploma or GED is preferred, but not necessary. Previous experience is not necessary, but up to two years of related experience is preferred. 

 

Language Ability: Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondences, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondences. Ability to effectively present information in a one-on-one and small group situation to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.  

 

Math Ability: Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide into all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent, and to draw and interpret bar graphs.  

 

Reasoning Ability: Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.  


Computer Skills: Word processing, Excel/spreadsheet software, and design software such as InDesign, Canva, and/or Photoshop. Ability to use and navigate the Internet and company email.

Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. 

 

Ability to Travel: Valid driver’s license and ability to occasionally travel for distribution of marketing materials.
