Clinical Laboratory Technologist
Location: UHS Binghamton General Hospital – 10-42 Mitchell Avenue, Binghamton, NY
Pay Rate: $51/hour
Shift: Night Rotational | 4 × 10-hour shifts | 40 hours per week
Schedule: Sunday through Wednesday
- Sunday: 7:00 PM – 8:00 AM
- Monday–Wednesday: 11:00 PM – 8:00 AM
Job Summary
We are seeking a qualified Clinical Laboratory Technologist to join the laboratory team at UHS Binghamton General Hospital in Binghamton, New York. The ideal candidate will have hands-on clinical laboratory experience and be proficient in all areas of the laboratory, including blood bank operations.
This opportunity is ideal for a licensed laboratory professional who can work a rotational night schedule and contribute to accurate, timely, and reliable laboratory testing to support quality patient care.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform clinical laboratory testing across multiple laboratory departments, including blood bank.
- Demonstrate proficiency in all areas of the clinical laboratory.
- Ensure the accuracy and reliability of laboratory test results.
- Follow established laboratory procedures, quality control standards, and safety protocols.
- Maintain accurate laboratory documentation and records.
- Comply with applicable hospital policies and New York State laboratory regulations.
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals to support timely patient diagnosis and treatment.
Required Qualifications
Education
- Bachelor's degree in Clinical Laboratory Technology or equivalent qualification.
- Candidates qualifying under the grandfathered New York State Licensed Clinical Laboratory Technologist provision must provide applicable documentation.
Experience and Skills
- One (1) year of experience working in a clinical laboratory.
- Up to three (3) years of direct experience.
- Proficiency in all areas of the laboratory, including blood bank.
- Ability to work the required rotational night schedule.
Required Licensure and Certifications
- New York State Licensed Clinical Laboratory Technologist (CLT).
- Proof of grandfathering exception, if applicable.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from one of the following:
- American Heart Association (AHA)
- Health & Safety Institute (HSI)
- American Red Cross
Preferred Qualifications
- ASCP specialty certification issued or recognized by New York State, as applicable.
