Respiratory Therapist – Night Shift
Location: UHS Wilson Medical Center – 33-57 Harrison Street, Johnson City, NY
Pay Rate: $68 per hour
Shift: Nights | 3 × 12-hour shifts | 36 hours per week
Job Summary
We are seeking a qualified and experienced Respiratory Therapist to join the healthcare team at UHS Wilson Medical Center in Johnson City, New York. The ideal candidate will have experience in critical care and NICU settings, be proficient in ventilator management, and be comfortable participating in external patient transports.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide respiratory care to patients in critical care, NICU, and other clinical settings as needed.
- Operate and manage V60 BiPAP systems and Puritan Bennett 980 ventilators.
- Assess patients' respiratory conditions and implement appropriate respiratory therapy interventions.
- Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to support quality patient care.
- Document patient assessments, treatments, and clinical information accurately in EPIC.
- Participate in external patient transports as required.
- Maintain compliance with facility policies, clinical protocols, and patient safety standards.
Required Qualifications
Education
- Graduation from an accredited school of Respiratory Therapy.
Experience
- Up to three (3) years of working experience.
- Experience in critical care and NICU settings.
- Hands-on experience with V60 BiPAP and Puritan Bennett 980 ventilators.
- Familiarity with EPIC electronic medical records.
- Ability and willingness to participate in external patient transports.
Certifications and Licensure
- Valid New York State Respiratory Therapy Permit or License.
- Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential through the National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC).
- Current BLS certification from AHA, HSI, or the American Red Cross.
- Current ACLS certification from the American Heart Association (AHA).
Compensation and Schedule
- Pay: $68/hour
- Schedule: Night shift, three 12-hour shifts per week
- Weekly Hours: 36 hours
- Work Location: UHS Wilson Medical Center, Johnson City, New York
