Brief Position Description:
The Claims Manager is responsible for creating and managing estimates and projects in the residential, commercial, and industrial lines of business. This position will meet with clients, develop quality and competitive estimates using Xactimate software, manage work through completion, review budgets and communicate progress with clients, adjusters, and management.
Accountable For:
Creating accurate scopes, very few over/under scopes
Creating accurate floor plans and multi-level/roof sketches in Xactimate Sketch,
Creating and adhering to acceptable budgets and address overages as they present themselves
Using the Haggerty naming convention for estimates, revised estimates, proposals, change orders, etc.
Maintaining a construction schedule and work with trades and management to ensure work is completed on time. Identify and present solutions when additional resources are needed.
Demonstrating proficiency with source removal, decontamination, mitigation, containment, ventilation, contents and deodorization techniques
Serving as primary contact with owners, adjusters, and consultants
Providing scope development, negotiation and agreements with customers
Coordinating after hours emergency services as directed, including board-ups, water damage, fire and smoke damage and vandalism
Consistently identifying potential site hazards (asbestos, lead paint, mold, etc.)
Applying industry TPA Program standards and ensure compliance with requirements
Safety:
Accurate and timely submittal of any Incident Reports to Safety Manager and Human Resource (HR) Manager within 24 hours of injury
Maintaining a safe work environment, adhering to HCI’s safety policies and procedures, and ensuring all people on the jobsite follow the same
Maintaining / refilling company assigned Emergency Medical Kits, including vehicle first aid kits
Maintaining / refilling all documents in the Vehicle Binder
Completing Monthly Vehicle Inspections for company assigned vehicle and turning in by date indicated by Vehicle Administrator.
Reports To:
The Claims Manager reports directly to the Senior Claims Manager.

Proficient with investigative demolition, controlled demolition, decontamination structure cleaning and deodorization services
Attention to detail and keen sense of safeguarding other people's property and information
Working knowledge of all crafts (ability to read and understand specifications for all trades)
Residential estimating experience in excess of $500,000 and Commercial estimating experience up to $1,000,000
Understanding of SDS’s, and applicability to jobs
Extensive Customer Service experience
Experience with Xactimate
Must have working knowledge of applicable building codes
General Requirements:

Working knowledge of Microsoft Office programs including, but not limited to, Outlook, Word, Excel, and Project
Ability to create and work with Adobe PDF’s

Reliable personal transportation and a motor vehicle driving record that is consistent with HCI’s and insurance carrier’s standards and policies

Possess and maintain a valid driver license
Educational and Experience Considerations:
Minimum 5 years’ experience in Construction, Restoration or Contents Estimating
