Duties:
The Catering/Prep cook is responsible for preparing ingredients, assembling dishes, and organizing food stations for events, working in a fast-paced, event driven environment. Key duties include chopping vegetables, washing/portioning food, assisting with event setups, and maintaining high sanitation standards in accordance with local Health Department regulations. Essential requirements include knife skills, physical stamina, and 1 years of kitchen experience.
MUST BE AVAILABLE MONDAY THROUGH FRIDAY
MUST BE A CURRENT HCC STUDENT FOR THE SUMMER AND/OR FALL 2026 SEMESTER.
MUST BE ENROLLED IN AT LEAST 6 CREDITS.
UNLESS FIRST-SEMESTER STUDENT, MUST HAVE ATTAINED A 2.0 SEMESTER GPA DURING THE LAST SEMESTER ATTENDED.
- Basic knowledge of cooking techniques and food prep equipment
- Must be available Monday thru Friday for 20 hour work week
- 1 years of experience in a fast-paced, high volume kitchen
- Ability to stand for long periods, work in varying temperatures, and lift up to 50lbs.
- Ability to work in a team and communicate effectively with chefs and kitchen staff.

- Wash, peel, chop, and prepare vegetables, fruits, and meats. Measure ingredients for recipes, assemble sandwiches, and prepare salads.

- Label, store, and organize ingredients, ensuring compliance with local Health Department regulations.
- Inform Catering Manager about inventory shortages
- Maintain a clean and organized workstation, clean equipment, and adhere to food safety protocols.
