SUMMARY STATEMENT
The Dual Enrollment Liaison supports dual enrollment instructors and facilitates communication with Division Directors at Hagerstown Community College (HCC), serving as the main point of contact between HCC and instructors at partner high schools. The DE Liaison must demonstrate strong organizational and interpersonal skills to provide guidance, leadership, and support to faculty; establish effective collaborative support structures that promote successful educational experiences; coordinate meetings and training opportunities for dual enrollment instructors; verify completion of hiring requirements (e.g., Learning Management System training); ensure course materials and instructional technologies are current and accessible; maintain accurate records of required tasks and responsibilities; and offer constructive feedback to support continuous improvement in faculty performance.
Please note this is a temporary, part-time position for up to 29 hours per week.
ORGANIZATIONAL RELATIONSHIPS
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
Bachelor's degree required, Master’s degree preferred. Teaching experience, college teaching and/or administrative experience, especially at the community college level, preferred. Knowledge of, or experience with, the K-12 education system is desirable.
Skills And Abilities
Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal skills. Experience using D2L or a similar LMS preferred. Excellent technical, organizational, and follow-through skills are needed. Must have a Driver’s license and insured vehicle. Must be available during daytime hours.
WORKING ENVIRONMENT
Work is performed across multiple high school locations within Washington County, Maryland and Pennsylvania, as well as on the Hagerstown Community College campus. Regular travel to partner high school sites is required. This role is suited for individuals who are adaptable and can efficiently manage responsibilities with a high level of autonomy.

ORGANIZATIONAL RELATIONSHIPS
- The DE Liaison reports directly to the Director of Early College Programs.
- The DE Liaison coordinates most closely with the Division Directors, dual enrollment instructors, the Early College Office, the Distance Learning Office, other DE Liaisons.
- Support the Division Director and related college offices (HR, IT, etc.) to complete the on-boarding process in a timely manner upon hiring.
- Collaborate with the Division Director and faculty to ensure that all relevant course-specific HCC materials, such as syllabi, assignments, exams, and online course shells in the LMS (Learning Management System), are up to date and disseminated to dual enrollment instructors.
- Serve as main point of contact between dual enrollment instructors and the HCC Early College Office, and other HCC departments to provide answers to instructors’ questions, concerns, and issues related to dual enrollment offerings (registration, materials, technology, advising, resources, etc.).
- Meet regularly with dual enrollment instructors and Division Directors; maintain accurate records to ensure responsibilities and required tasks are met for reporting to the Division Director.
- Provide training to dual enrollment instructors about college, division, and course-related policies and procedures, including those that are outlined in the Handbook for Dual Enrollment Instructors. Set up or provide DE Instructors with training in the use of HCC technology (e.g., email & the LMS). Make sure that instructors are informed about expectations regarding the adoption of HCC syllabi, course materials, submission of rosters and attendance information, grade submission, and compliance with course-specific requirements (grading methods, use of rubrics, late-work policies, etc.). Train instructors to complete outcomes assessment requirements.
- Work with the Division Director and faculty to coordinate and plan relevant professional development meetings between HCC Faculty/Staff and dual enrollment instructors.
- Work with the Division Director to develop clear and direct feedback to dual enrollment instructors that provides guidance for improvements with a well-defined plan of action to assist the Division Director’s evaluation of instructional performance.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
