SUMMARY STATEMENT
The part-time Radiography Instructor, under guidance of the Program Coordinator instructs and evaluates both first- and second-year students in the lab component of the Radiography Program. This position is responsible for supporting the radiography program skills/positioning laboratories in the Career Programs building in conjunction with program faculty, which includes the use of simulation and other technologies that assists students in meeting program outcome
ORGANIZATIONAL RELATIONSHIPS
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
Satisfactory completion of an accredited radiography program, Bachelor’s degree with a minimum of two years of professional experience, preferred, registration by A.R.R.T. in Radiography, possess a current Maryland Medical Radiation Technologist license, eligible for West Virginia license and 2 years of experience in a clinical radiography setting.
Skills And Abilities
Excellent organization and management skills. Ability to work with clinical simulation and clinical technology. Knowledge of diagnostic and patient care supplies and equipment. Knowledge of the Internet, Microsoft Word and Excel. Ability to establish good working relationships with staff, students, and the community. Able to organize and prioritize work, make decisions independently, and attend to details.
WORKING ENVIRONMENT
Normal lab environment. May need to lift and move equipment and stretch to assist students with placement of equipment and x-rays. Working in the lab requires standing for periods of time.

ORGANIZATIONAL RELATIONSHIPS
- The part-time Radiography Instructor reports directly to the Division Director and receives guidance from the Radiography Program Coordinator.
- The position provides guidance to first- and second-year students enrolled in the Radiography Program.
- The part-time Radiography Instructor coordinates most closely with the radiography faculty, staff, and students, and patients. In addition, this instructor works closely with the health sciences director, staff, and faculty.
- Supports program faculty to plan a comprehensive lab positioning curriculum for each course. This includes the development of purpose, objectives, outcomes, and learning activities.
- Supports the implementation of the lab positioning curriculum in conjunction with faculty, using a variety of patient care equipment and supplies, and energized radiography-based instruction tools and programs.
- Collaboratively works with faculty to ensure students’ achievement of learning outcomes through evaluation of lab competencies and skill assessment tests, reflecting the curriculum.
- Works with radiography faculty to ensure the availability of properly functioning equipment and supplies.
- Assists faculty to set up supplies and equipment for each skill positioning lab.
- Assesses all equipment to ensure proper maintenance and function in relation to manufacturer recommendation.
- Maintains labs in a clean and orderly fashion.
- Participates in division and college wide committees and activities as appropriate.
- Provides lab instruction and direction to students in accordance with program objectives.
- Critiques students’ lab performance to insure clinical competence.
- Maintains appropriate lab performance records.
- Attend meetings as planned by the Radiography Program Coordinator to keep abreast of Program calibration and to provide feedback on the lab education component of the Program.
- Attend continuing education functions to stay current with educational and technological advancements.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
