Responsibilities and Duties:
- Determines vehicle condition by conducting inspections and diagnostic tests; identifying worn and damaged parts
- Keeps equipment available for use by completing preventive maintenance schedules; installing component and part upgrades; controlling corrosion; completing winterization procedures
- Verifies vehicle performance by conducting test drives; adjusting controls and systems
- Complies with federal and state vehicle requirements by testing engine, safety, and combustion control standards
- Keeps shop equipment operating by following operating instructions; troubleshooting breakdowns; maintaining supplies; performing preventive maintenance
- Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading technical and regulation publications
- Work additional hours in accordance with business needs and other demands of the position, including mandatory overtime
Qualifications for Diesel Mechanic:
- 3 years of experience Diesel Mechanics and Truck Mechanics
- CDL Class A & Inspection license is strongly preferred but not required
- Experience with Federal inspections, PM services, electrical wiring installation and hydraulic troubleshooting and repair.
- Must have a technical understanding with attention to detail
- Generator knowledge a plus
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- Demonstrate dependability, thoroughness and excellent verbal communication skills
- Valid Driver's License required
Hours:
The location is open 6 days a week. The schedule may vary and flexibility is a must.
Typical start time of 7 AM and a typical work week is 45 hours.
