We are looking to add an experienced Forklift Operator/Truck Loader in our Waterbury, CT transfer station.
WORK HOURS: Monday through Friday, 12:30AM-7:00AM (30-40 hours per week)
Position Summary:
Offload material such as stainless steel and aluminum plate, sheet, and bar stock from evening shuttles, and reload flatbed trucks for next day deliveries. Hours are Monday through Friday, 12:30AM-7:00AM.
Role & Responsibilities:
- Safely operate forklift to offload material from nightly shuttles.
- Safely operate forklift to reload flatbed trucks for next day deliveries.
- Assure that material is loaded for optimum delivery schedule.
- Assure that material is loaded without damage.
- Comply with transportation-related policies, for proper distribution of weight per DOT and government regulations.
- Promote safe work activities and maintain a clean and safe work environment.
Requirements
Requirements:
- At least two years of experience as a safe forklift operator in a distribution environment preferred.
- CDL experience a plus.
- Knowledge of the transportation industry and logistics.
- Critical thinking skills.
- Ability to lift 50 lbs. and climb on to truck beds as needed.
