- Coordinate patient referrals with specialists and hospitals, completing referral requests and transmitting medical records and correspondence securely via mail, fax, or email.
- Manage approval workflows and follow up with approvers who do not respond within 24 hours.
- Ensure the accurate and detailed completion of patient referrals.
- Notify insurance companies of referrals and tests.
- Provide appropriate patient education regarding the referral process.
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Strong written and oral communication skills
- Detail-oriented and accurate in work
- Ability to work independently
- Familiarity with various insurance types
- Experience in a medical or dental office is a plus
