Position Summary:
The Clerical Float is a versatile team member who supports a variety of administrative functions, including medical, dental, and school reception; mail courier services; switchboard operations; medical records; and patient coordination. This role requires flexibility, strong organizational skills, and the ability to multitask in a fast-paced healthcare environment.
Job Responsibilities:
- Reception (Medical, Dental, School-Based Health):
- Greet and assist patients in a professional and welcoming manner
- Schedule appointments and manage calendars
- Collect and update patient demographic and insurance information
- Verify insurance and collect copays and patient balances
- Manage patient check-in and check-out processes
Mail Courier:
- Distribute internal and external mail and packages between locations
- Switchboard:
- Operate the main phone line, directing calls and assisting with inquiries
- Manage incoming faxes and general communications
Medical Records:
- Maintain and organize patient records
- Ensure accuracy, confidentiality, and compliance with regulations
Patient Coordination:
- Assist new patients with registration and onboarding
- Provide information and support to ensure access to services
Job Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- One year of medical office or medical records experience or training within the past five years preferred
Skills & Abilities:
- Strong interpersonal and professional communication skills
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
- High level of accuracy in work
- Basic computer proficiency
- Ability to adapt and multitask in a dynamic environment
