Responsibilities
The Pathology Assistant functions as a professional who assumes responsibility for assisting the Pathologist with autopsies, performing or assisting in accessioning, dissection, grossing, evisceration, description, and histologic sampling of a full range of surgical specimens under the general supervision of a Pathologist
Qualifications
Job Requirements:
Master’s degree, Anatomic Pathology or equivalent education/experience.
Familiarity with Anatomic Pathology procedures, techniques, and instrumentation, experience including grossing surgical specimens.
3 years’ experience at a hospital laboratory performing technical duties relating to anatomic pathology.
Preferred Job Requirements:
ASCP or equivalent certification as a Pathology Assistant.
Familiarity with the Epic Lab information system.
Rate of pay is determined based on experience and education, and may include other pay components such as differentials and call pay based on role.
