What are the responsibilities and job description for the Laboratory Accessioner position at Chemisys Laboratory?
Chemisys Laboratories is looking for a responsible and dedicated individual to join the Accessioning team. This is an entry-level position with lots of room for learning and growth in a rapidly expanding field.
The required hours for this position are Tuesdays - Saturdays 9am-5pm. This is a full-time position.
Responsibilities for Specimen Accessioner:
- Prepare laboratory specimens for analysis and testing
- Communicate effectively with team members
- meet department activity and production goals
- Data entry of patient demographic and testing information into our laboratory information system in timely manner
- Check laboratory specimens and requisition forms for adequacy
- Accurately identify label and scan requisition forms into the system to ensure proper filing
- Check requisitions to ensure samples are prepared and missing items are updated
- Deliver specimens to proper laboratory department for testing
Required Skills, Experience and Education Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Able to type with speed and accuracy
- Able to work independently under general supervision
- Able to work in a fast paced production environment to meet established turnaround times
- Must be reliable & punctual
- Must be able to perform work with a high degree of accuracy & strong attention to detail
